3D Rigger 

We’re looking for an established 3D rigger to join us on our latest animation production, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain complex rigs for 3D characters including quadruped animals.

  • Work closely with the animation team to ensure smooth, natural movement that brings our characters to life.

  • Test and refine rigs ensuring efficiency and longevity.

  • Collaborate with the modelling team and animation team to ensure rigs meet technical requirements and artistic goals.

  • Stay up to date with the latest tools and techniques to enhance our pipeline and workflows.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a 3D rigger with a solid portfolio showcasing both quadruped and biped rigs.

  • Knowledge of skinning, weight painting, and deformation techniques.

  • Expertise in 3D rigging techniques in Maya.

  • Experience with creating rigs to work within Unreal Engine including implementation and testing.

  • A problem solver who is comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

3D Environment Artist

Taunt are currently looking for incredibly talented & passionate environment artists to join our creative team here in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a 3D Environment artist you will play a key role in helping to create visually stunning assets that support and enhance our storytelling.

What you’ll do:

  • Using both organic and hard surface modelling techniques to create 3D environment assets - including terrain structures, props and foliage, all while maintaining industry standard optimised quality.

  • Model and texture according to established art direction and technical guidelines.

  • Ensure models are clean, efficient and follow industry-standard best practices for topology, UV unwrapping and texturing.

  • Work with concept art and reference materials to create visually compelling assets.

  • Participate in art reviews and implement feedback.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends, tools and techniques.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a 3D Environment Artist or similar role, with a solid portfolio showcasing high quality examples of models, uv mapping and texturing.

  • Expertise in 3D modelling techniques in Maya.

  • Proficiency in 3D modelling softwares such as ZBrush and Substance or similar.

  • Have a keen eye for detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Bonus:

  • Experience implementing assets in Unreal Engine.

3D Character Artist

Taunt are seeking multiple skilled and creative 3D Animators to join our team on an upcoming production, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a 3D Animator you will play a key role in bringing our story to life - we are looking for someone who has a passion for animation and storytelling and thrives in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Create high-quality 3D animations for characters and creatures that align with the artistic vision and narrative provided.

  • Work with the Lead Animator to ensure your work meets the desired performance, timing and impact of the scene.

  • Animate in accordance with the specific style and aesthetic of the project from key posing to in-betweens and final polish.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve animation issues, and collaborate with the rigger and department heads to ensure smooth integration with Unreal Engine.

  • Participate in animation reviews and implement feedback.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends, tools and techniques.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a 3D Animator, ideally with a focus on animated series or film - with a solid portfolio showcasing high quality examples.

  • Expertise in animation techniques in Maya.

  • Have a strong understanding of animation principles and the ability to apply them effectively to 3D animation.

  • Have experience in stylised character animation. 

  • Have a strong knowledge for the animation pipeline, including collaboration with other departments.

  • Have a solid understanding of cinematic techniques, camera work and how to convey mood and emotion through animation.

  • Have a keen eye for detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Bonus:

  • Experience implementing assets in Unreal Engine.

  • Have an understanding of the rigging process.

3D Generalist

We are on the lookout for versatile 3D Generalists to join our team on an exciting upcoming production, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a 3D Generalist you will be involved in creating a wide range of assets and assist in other areas in the production pipeline.

This position is ideal for a recent graduate or entry level to the animation industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in the creation of 3D models and textures on a range of props and environment assets.

  • Collaborate with the department heads to ensure assets align with the projects vision and aesthetic.

  • Take direction and feedback to refine and improve assets throughout the production process.

  • Support the team in ensuring all assets are delivered on time and meet industry standard quality.

  • Support the team in other areas outside of 3D modelling, for example, helping in engine, previs etc.

What we’re looking for:

  • Have a passion for 3D art and animation and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.

  • Have a portfolio or showreel showcasing your work in 3D modelling, texturing or animation.

  • Have proficient knowledge of 3D software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance or similar.

  • Have a keen eye for detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.

  • Have a collaborative mindset with the ability to take feedback and adapt.

  • Have a willingness to learn new tools and techniques to enhance your skill set.
