Our Place in Space
If we could look back at Earth from the vastness of the solar system, what would we feel? Wouldn’t squabbles look stupid from Saturn? Wouldn’t violence seem senseless from Venus? Forget about ‘Us and Them’, from the perspective of Pluto, it’s just US!
Centred around an epic scale model of the solar system designed by the artist Oliver Jeffers with scientist Professor Stephen Smartt and a creative team (that’s where we come in) led by Nerve Centre, Our Place in Space is a three-dimensional sculpture trail, interactive AR app and exciting learning and events programme.
Led by Nerve Centre the project is part of Creativity: UNBOXED, a ground-breaking UK-wide celebration of creativity bringing people together and reaching millions through ten major multi-site and digital creative projects in 2022.
As part of the creative team on this project, TAUNT worked closely with the Nerve Centre, Oliver Jeffers, Jeffers & Sons, Big Motive, Yellow Design (Rovar) and Die Hexen in the making of the Our Place in Space app to accompany the walking sculpture trail. Our studio was tasked with creating the charming 3D assets and delightful animations based on Oliver Jeffers artwork throughout the project. It was amazing to work alongside the diverse team of creatives in the consortium on such an ambitious project!
