History of The Royal Observatory Greenwich

We worked with the Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG) to create an animated history of their founding, telling the story of why King Charles II was so keen to establish the observatory, why Greenwich was chosen as the location for the Prime Meridian, and how it came to be the home of astronomy, timekeeping and navigation.

As a classroom resource for students aged 14-16, and as part of the ROG's science week campaign, the animation is designed to inspire viewers to learn more about and develop a personal enjoyment of astronomy.
